Transfer news: Man Utd spent more on current squad than Liverpool and Chelsea – New study
MANCHESTER UNITED have spent more money constructing their current squad than nearly all their Premier League and European rivals, according to new research.
Manchester United have endured an inconsistent start to the 2018/19 season following a below-par transfer window, despite massive investment in recent years.
The Red Devils suffered back-to-back defeats against Brighton and Tottenham last month as the Old Trafford club experienced their worst start to a league season in 26 years.
Their stumbling domestic form came on the back of an underwhelming summer which saw just three new arrivals at the club.
Third-choice goalkeeper Lee Grant and reserve right-back Diogo Dalot are yet to feature for the first team while £52million midfielder Fred has failed to impress so far.
