Roma took a 2-1 lead into the second leg after an unsatisfying triumph at Stadio Olimpico yet Porto leveled the last-16 tie when Tiquinho Soares scored from short proximity to put the hosts ahead on the night.
Daniele De Rossi struck from the punishment spot however Moussa Marega made it 2-1 right off the bat in the second half before Wednesday's diversion subsided and went into additional time.
